Announcing the Suffolk Ambassador Program 2020

A program to encourage and reward ASHA members for expanding the Suffolk Punch Horse’s exposure to the public by participating in public events.

Requirements:
• Each participant must be a member must be in good standing with the American Suffolk Horse Association, or the child of a member in good standing with ASHA.
• Each horse must be registered with the American Suffolk Horse Association

How to Enter:
• Each entry into the program will be a member with one horse combination.
• Entry can be done online through the website or by mail using the entry form provided in
the Punchline
• Each entrant will update their file monthly and show a list of the public events that they attended with each horse.
• Entrants having multiple horses, will maintain their file by each horse. They can access their file online or can mail in their list to Leah Haney and their participation will be listed.
• Points will be awarded per event. If parent and child are signed up with the same horse
and both submit for the same event, the point will go to the junior exhibitor.
• All event tracking forms will be turned in to advertising committee chair, Leah Haney,
either online or by postal service before September 30th of each year.

Events that qualify for this program:
• Horse Shows
• Horse Pulls
• Plow Days
• Club events (Wagon trains, trail rides, hunter paces, fox hunts)
• Parades
• Public wagon rides
• Open farm days
• Equine Expos
• Agricultural Fairs
• Speaking events, to schools or educational groups
• Photos or articles in magazines or newspapers.

Awards:
Awards will be tallied, and certificates will be given by the Association at different achievement levels.
• Platinum certificate - 50 events
• Gold certificate - 40 events
• Silver certificate - 30 events
• Bronze certificate - 20 events
• Red - 10 events

All person/horse combinations that participate in the Ambassador program will be recognized at the annual meeting and in a write up in the Punchline.
The Horse/exhibitor combination with the most public events logged will receive a Suffolk Ambassador 2020 T-shirt for the person and halter for the horse.

Awards for this program are not given on a basis of outcome of competitions. Awards are given based on participation and getting the Suffolk Horse in the eye of the public. Points are accumulated on a rolling basis, not yearly, and are good for the lifetime of the horse.

Congratulations and thank you for putting this together which recognises the effort and encourages members when they go out and about to promote the breed.. Just one point I would make: could the words "Rider/Driver" be switched around to read "Driver/Rider" to reflect the working nature of the breed?

This appears to be the best thread for this question. I am interested in learning how to braid for show like our cousins across the pond. Beyond a few youtube videos can we compile a few resources to assist in showcasing Suffolk horse?
